Venus ‘Goddess’ Shavers
This advert has been riling me up for a while now! Notice the beautiful, tanned, smooth skin. The stunning good looks. The sheer perfection of these women. They’re goddesses, apparently.
Here I was under the impression that Saraswati and Viishna were goddesses – foolish me. It’s if you shave your legs that you become a goddess! You can achieve the perfection that these women do.
I mean, come on. Do people take this toff seriously? It’s even called ‘Venus’! Let’s all play on the sacred worship of the goddess and yet again turn women into self concious wrecks.
I’ve seen hairy legs on a woman, I didn’t keel over and die. Surely this sort of advertising shouldn’t be allowed!

Hallelujah! Everytime I see it I want to scream. Obviously I can’t be a goddess because I refuse to shave. (I don’t believe that) I love the line “Inside every woman there lies a goddess” which you of course unlock through shaving instead of oh say being an amazing, strong person. Blargh.
